When you think of South Dakota you probably think of tractors, cold weather, Mount Rushmore, and vast, open landscapes filled with nothing… and you wouldn’t necessarily be wrong! But we’re here to show you that there’s a whole lot more to South Dakota than the stereotypes! Per usual, we only had a day to explore this beautiful state, so we focused our efforts on the quaint town of Sioux Falls, and we can promise you that it did not disappoint! Sculpture Walk is an outdoor art exhibit where sculptures are displayed year-round in downtown Sioux Falls and it is a must-do/see when visiting!
Downtown Trolley ($2/person)
The Downtown Trolley is a hop-on, hop-off historic tour of downtown Sioux Falls that runs a loop from Falls Park, down Main Avenue to the Washington Pavilion, and back up Phillips Avenue to Falls Park, stopping along the way at 8th & Railroad Center on East 8th Street. Each loop takes 25-30 minutes.
Cathedral of St. Joseph (521 N Duluth Ave)
Built from 1915-1918, this Romanesque and French Renaissance structure stands tall above the Sioux Falls skyline and is a must-see.
The State Theatre (316 S Phillips Ave)
This fully restores 1940’s theater is THE place to for live music in Sioux Falls
